This is my latest model and shows H.M.S. Ark Royal R07 going to the breakers, after the current government took the decision to leave the United Kingdom without an aircraft carrier until the new Queen Elizabeth comes online in the next decade.
This is my first attempt to create a land scene; the scene is the world famous entrance to Portsmouth harbour, an interesting element is the rocks and beach which are made from stones taken from Portsmouth sea front.
In order to make this diorama I photographed the whole area, I was also fortunate to be in Portsmouth when this event took place.
The large house is of particular interest to me as this is where William Lionel Wylie lived when he was painting.
